Small College Jazz Festival
Thursday, November 20 at 7:30 pm in Sundin Music Hall. Jazz ensembles from Hamline, Macalester, St. Thomas, Normandale, and Concordia will be performing. This year’s clinician and guest artist is Mark Buselli, a nationally recognized trumpet player and big band leader from Indiana. The festival will close with an All Star Jazz Ensemble made up of the most experienced students from all the ensembles playing original compositions performed and directed by Mark Buselli. University Women’s Chorale & Hamline Winds: "Salute to American Composers"
Saturday, December 6 at 1:30 pm in Sundin Music Hall. The Hamline University Women's Chorale, conducted by Kathy Thomsen, presents seasonal music by American composers Vincent Persichetti and Norman Dello Joio, as well as a lively spiritual by Rollo Dilworth. Guest musicians include Carmel Leasure, marimba and Elizabeth Hauck, flute. The Hamline Winds program will feature the Midwest premiere of “The Francis Hopkinson Suite” by guest composer and conductor, Edward Marcus.
